1. Hold and Maintain Current NCCCO Certification:
• This certification ensures the safety of yourself and everyone else who you’ll be working with.
2. Load Management:
• Determine load specifications, including weight, dimensions, and center of gravity, to select appropriate crane, rigging equipment, and lifting accessories.
3. Safety Compliance:
• Adhere to strict safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations to ensure a secure work environment. Conduct pre-operation safety checks.
4. Site Assessment:
• Conduct thorough site assessments, considering terrain, access points, and potential obstacles. Collaborate with the team to plan and implement safe lifting procedures.
5. Rigging Expertise:
• Perform rigging activities, including attaching slings, hooks, and other lifting accessories, ensuring load stability and proper weight distribution.
6. Communication:
• Collaborate effectively with signal persons and ground crew to ensure clear and precise communication during lifts, following established hand signals and procedures.
7. Equipment Maintenance:
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of crane equipment, identifying and reporting any issues for prompt resolution.
8. Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of lifts, including load charts, permits, and other relevant documentation. Ensure compliance with all reporting requirements.
9. Emergency Response:
• Demonstrate proficiency in emergency response procedures, including securing loads and coordinating safe evacuations if necessary.
10. Continuous Improvement:
• Stay informed about industry advancements, technology, and safety standards. Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
• Valid certification as a Crane Operator.
• Proven experience in operating various cranes.
• In-depth knowledge of crane operations, rigging techniques, load management, and safety protocols.
• Ability to interpret load charts, blueprints, and project specifications.
• Strong spatial awareness and attention to detail.
